Today I had lunch with my husband in one of the oldest and most famous pubs in Ireland, Johnnies Fox’s. It is a ten minute drive away from my house, and about 35 minutes drive from the city centre. My house is at the foot of the Dublin Mountains, and the pub is up the mountain, looking out over the city and and Dublin Bay in the distance.
The pub was established in 1798 , and has a very interesting history. I took a lot of photographs, just with my phone, so excuse the quality, they go some way to showing what the place is like, but really one has to actually visit to really appreciate it, and even better to visit on one of their “Hooley Nights” ! Many very famous people from all over the world have called in a Fox’s during their time in Ireland. Enjoy the photos!

These photos are wonderful, Bernadette! Halfway down the page, I began to wonder, who dusts all that stuff?? Love the little clothes line above the fire. Very interesting history.

Hi Alice, I wondered the same thing as I was looking around today, I certainly wouldn’t like that job!
